Several years ago, I was diagnosed with a debilitating auto-immune disease that forever changed the way I perceived my health. After countless doctors, tests, and treatments in western medicine, I still had no answers to my questions and no effective treatments for my disease. Desperate for healing, I turned to a more holistic approach; and began experimenting with nutrition, essential oils, and a more well-rounded mind-body-spirit avenue to healing. To my surprise, I immediately saw an astounding improvement in my health, which led to a complete upheaval of the way I lived my life.
After months of studying essential oils, anti-inflammatory spices, and plant-based nutrients that would help subdue my symptoms, I had an epiphany: how you live really matters. It seems so simple; so obvious. But from changing the way I respected my body, and living with gratitude for life and the gifts this world brings us, my body began to heal itself, and it all just clicked: what you put in and on your body, the way you think, and the way you treat the world around you all make a difference in your health and wellbeing.
My career as an esthetician led me to start searching for a way I could apply this anti-inflammatory healing to my beauty routine. I wanted something powerful and potent to replace my chemical-laden products without losing the effects. After trying so many natural products on the market that did not produce any results in the way my skin looked or felt, I began experimenting in my kitchen, using the same ingredients I used in my own healing. I infused my own oils with herbs, grated fresh turmeric, and mixed in manuka honey, and essential oils that fight inflammation- and Golden Chai Facial Soufflé was born. It’s amazing how nature’s kitchen provides us with all the ingredients we need. Golden Chai is the perfect blend of therapeutic plants, essential oils, and botanicals infused with proven, high-performance peptides, vitamins, and other vital ingredients that bring out your skin’s innate youth and vibrancy.
As a woman, we have so much pressure to look a certain way; we contain so much of our identity and self-worth in our outward appearance. There are many moments where I see a woman my age who has had some cosmetic work done, and my immediate impulse used to be “how I can change something about myself to look younger, or more like her.” But what I’ve come to terms with on my journey is that the process of aging is a beautiful thing, and we should embrace it. The age spots on your hands are from weekends spent outside, enjoying moments with family in the sun. The wrinkles around your mouth are from countless smiles; laughter, joy. Our lives, from birth, to adolescence, to old age; are exactly as they are supposed to be. Aging is part of the natural cycle of life, and it is this exact cycle that connects us to all living things, reminding us that we are created from the same benevolent, loving God that creates the natural world around us. If you ask me, that’s worth celebrating, not shaming. So go on, love the skin you’re in, and take time to stop and ask, How Do U Liv?
